The New Year countdown has come and gone and with it comes the new Get Fit Clovis 90 day “no excuses” challenge.
During this 90 day challenwe will be focusing on helping New Year’s resolutions become realities.
It happens like clockwork. Every year – we all do it – a desire we want to obtain is set. We start excited to begin our plan to change. We go to the grocery store to buy all the healthy veggies that we know of. Recipies are pinned. Our likes on social media turn into a list of post that are motivating to us – but inevitably all is in vain.
This year don’t just make your objective yours; include everyone around you. We have all heard the magic word: accountability and to be accountable we have to have discipline. The problem is that all that sounds like work – hard grueling work that we will begin to make excuses for.
You are not alone.
You don’t have to endure the “suck” solo.
Look at the people around you – it is said that it takes a village to raise a child. Well, it takes a support system to help you reach your goals. The people around us can be our biggest motivators, accountability police, food moderators, strengthening pillars and, of course, our picker-uppers.
That is what Get Fit Clovis is, and what it was founded on – creating a community to empower others to strive toward a healthier lifestyle. We have found a hard task – like changing lifestyle habits – can be easier when you have people around you cheering you on, showing you that they too struggle and that they too are trying as hard as they can.
Through our time we have heard stories from our participants of beating the intimidation that goes with diving into the world of exercise, quitting smoking, losing weight and above all, building relationships which made them start looking at leading a healthy life as an exciting, fun adventure.
The “No Excuses” challenge will feature many of the activities our participants know and love like Yoga in the Park. The first saturday of every month one of the Fulton Yoga Collective instructors guides Get Fit Clovis through a yoga session where participants learn new techniques to relieve stress, relax the body and focus on themselves. Every other saturday a number of other local trainers will guide different exercises each week.
As always the monthly newsletters, which are filled with nutritional tips, recipes, at home exercise examples and plenty of other information that will keep you moving forward toward your goals, will be on the Clovis Roundup stands at the start of every month. All the information in the newsletter will also be hosted at GetFitClovis.com, along with our activity schedule and other GFC exclusives.
